Sunglasses

If you’ll be my sunglasses
I will see the way back home
If you’re tired then use my legs
If you let me use your lungs
I am warm and full of fight
but I don’t know how to live
You are cold and tired and light
But you’re always pointed north
None of this is making sense
All this nothings getting dense
If I couldn’t feel your fear
I would start to lose my grip
We make holes throughout the night
Shattering its fitful sleep
When we finally find our bed
We will sleep for days and days

Memory
03:23

Memory in all its shades,
words released into the dark,
worlds created thick and foggy,
faded by the windy years.
here again my chest is twisted
here again the fevered trance
things lain dormant rise unbidden
creatures stirring in the haze
Now shes back behind my eyelids
all the contours of her form
fingertips can trace the outlines
pressure lingers on my lips
all these days are long and fallen
hollow visions wander by
even things that scream their brightness
lose their focus next to her
there she treads upon the future
vital as the dying light

The Wayward Home

We discussed what we would be
buffeted in stormy seas
you had wind behind your sail
I was sinking doomed to fail
creatures in the murk swam by
light reflecting in their eyes
I was thinking of your smile
haven't seen it in a while
Jelly fish brushed by my fall
didn't mind the sting at all
I was breathing through my gills
lips were swollen from you still
then the silence broke in two
anchor crashing through the gloom
I held onto it so tight
like your hand against the night
you pulled me on to your ship
oars were broken sails were ripped
lost at sea and set adrift
we were laughing while we kissed

The Where and the Why
04:11
|
|||
There was a boy who didn’t know his name
The people watched him as they went and came
The years went by and he did not look up
The rains came down and rattled in his cup
His hair grew long, took root in the black earth
His face was worn, with lips that shows no mirth
His trunk crept up towards the yawning sky
The burning sun reflected in his eyes
He made no move but sat as still as still
The wind was bleak, its voice was cold and shrill
When spring burst forth, his branches filled with buds
his blossoms red, the color of his blood
the stars tumble across the sky ee ay
not too concerned with the where or the why
the stars tumble across the sky ee ay
not too concerned with the where or the why
the boy sat
shedding particles of skin
the earth was restless
and continued to spin
he did not feel the time that struggled to get in
his head was full of a cacophonous din

Inch by Bloody Inch
06:04

Tonight is darker than my eyes
road is grainy underfoot
rain smells like it brought the sky
dizzy from my own unknowing
Wind is wild and full of seeming
I’m a child alive and dreaming
memories that I can’t place
strangers smiling with my face
no one there to keep the pace
none to say the way it tastes
Ive been pushing walls of air
Finding only whispers there
Wind is wild and full of seeming
I’m a child alive and dreaming
memories that I can’t place
strangers smiling with my face
tonight Ive walked a long long ways
ive been tracking you for days
you are light and leave no trace
soft as silk and pale as lace
Wind is wild and full of seeming
I’m a child alive and dreaming
memories that I can’t place
strangers smiling with my face
There upon the hill you sit
Figure by the moon is lit
I can barely move my feet
Heart is laboring to beat
You are slender as a flame
I’ve only got myself to blame
Inch by bloody inch I crawl
You don’t move your mouth at all
Rest my cheek upon the ground
And your gone without a sound
Wind is wild and full of seeming
I’m a child alive and dreaming
memories that I can’t place
strangers smiling with my face
